The burnt body of 23-year-old Mustafa Amir, who went missing from Defence a month ago, was found in the trunk of his charred car near Hub Checkpost.

At a press conference, DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider, alongside CPLC officials, stated that Mustafa was kidnapped on January 6, and his mother later received a ransom call. The case was transferred to the CIA, with CPLC providing key assistance.

On February 8, police arrested Mustafa’s friend, Armaghan, after an encounter that injured a DSP and two officers. Mustafa’s phone and bloodstains were found at Armaghan’s house, with intelligence agencies assisting in the investigation.

DIG Haider revealed that Armaghan and another suspect, Shiraz, were Mustafa’s childhood friends. A dispute at Armaghan’s house led to Mustafa’s murder, after which his body was placed in his car and set on fire near Hub Checkpost. Police are now investigating further suspects and seeking a remand order.

Forensic tests are underway to confirm Mustafa’s identity through DNA. While he had a past drug-related case, police dismissed claims of involvement with an international gang or cartel.

Mustafa’s father, Aamir Shuja, had reported his son missing after he left home with his car on January 6. Suspicious of Armaghan’s responses, he contacted police after receiving a ransom call, but initial action was delayed. Following his appeal to Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, investigators eventually located Mustafa’s remains near Hub Checkpost.
