In a tragic incident in Balochistan’s Harnai district, at least eleven labourers lost their lives, and seven others were critically injured following an explosion in the Shahrag area on Friday. According to police reports, the blast occurred near a vehicle transporting coal miners, with the explosion caused by a bomb planted on the road.
The injured labourers are currently in critical condition, as confirmed by Express News. Deputy Commissioner Harnai reported that most of the victims hailed from the Swat and Shangla districts, with families devastated by the loss. The area was swiftly cordoned off by law enforcement agencies, who immediately began collecting evidence to understand the full scope of the incident.

The Balochistan government condemned the attack, with provincial spokesperson Shahid Rand stating that an investigation was underway. Preliminary findings indicate that the explosive device had been deliberately placed beside the road. The government has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of workers in the region.
Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, expressed deep sorrow over the incident, offering condolences to the families of the deceased. This tragedy comes shortly after another fatal accident in Darra Adam Khel, where two workers from Shangla lost their lives in a coal mine accident, highlighting the dangerous conditions faced by coal miners in the region.
