Pakistan experienced a notable drop in weekly inflation on Friday, marking its lowest level in seven years.
According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, inflation declined by 0.36%, bringing the overall rate down to 0.44%. Prices of 16 essential commodities saw a decrease over the past week, while nine items became more expensive.

Among the rising costs, sugar, chicken, bananas, rice, cooking oil, ghee, and beef recorded price hikes. Sugar prices increased by Rs4.93 per kilogram, with the average price rising from Rs145.50 to Rs150.43 per kilogram, ranging between Rs145 and Rs160 in different cities.
Conversely, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, eggs, chickpeas, lentils, and wheat flour saw price reductions. Additionally, the cost of garlic, LPG, electricity, and timber also declined.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics released the latest inflation data, highlighting a mixed trend in price movements across the country.
