BCCI Confirms Compliance with ICC Uniform Guidelines for 2025 Champions Trophy
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed its adherence to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) uniform regulations for the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Addressing rumors about India objecting to featuring Pakistan’s name on their kits, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia clarified that such claims were baseless. He emphasized that India would fully comply with the ICC’s rules, which require all participating teams to display the official tournament logo and the host nation’s name on their uniforms.

“The BCCI will strictly follow every ICC rule related to uniforms during the Champions Trophy,” Saikia stated, as reported by PTI. “We will adhere to the logo and dress code requirements in true letter and spirit, just like other participating teams.”
The ICC’s uniform guidelines mandate the inclusion of the tournament logo and, for this edition, Pakistan’s name as the host nation.
Uncertainty Over Rohit Sharma’s Travel for Opening Ceremony
Regarding Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s participation in the opening ceremony in Pakistan, Saikia noted that no decision had been made about his travel for ICC media engagements. “Whether Rohit Sharma will travel to Pakistan is still undecided,” he remarked.
India’s Matches to Be Played in Dubai
India will play its matches in Dubai, UAE, under the hybrid model approved by the ICC, which allows the team to compete at a neutral venue.
The BCCI’s announcement follows extensive discussions about India’s participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy, with logistical and security concerns being key considerations for the tournament.
