Case Filed Against Punjab MPA Over Threats To Momina Iqbal

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a formal case against Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar in connection with allegations involving actress Momina Iqbal. The case has been filed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) following serious complaints of harassment and digital threats.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant accused Saqib Chadhar, along with his wife and associates, of alleged blackmail and issuing threats. The FIR states that pressure was allegedly exerted through threatening messages and demands linked to personal matters.

The report further claims that the accused allegedly threatened to leak private data if a marriage-related demand was not fulfilled. It also mentions that Momina Iqbal’s sister provided videos and supporting material to the cybercrime authorities as evidence in the case.

Officials stated that key digital evidence, including videos and a mobile phone, has been seized for forensic examination. Investigators are now analyzing the data to verify the authenticity of the alleged threats and communications linked to the case.

The FIR also alleges that threatening messages were sent from a mobile number reportedly linked to the accused MPA. Authorities are currently tracing digital footprints and communication records to establish a clearer picture of the incident.

Momina Iqbal had earlier approached the cybercrime agency with a formal complaint regarding the matter. NCCIA officials said the investigation remains ongoing, and further action will depend on forensic findings and verification of submitted evidence.
