During the press conference, the YDA highlighted several pressing issues and demands:
- Provision of hostel facilities for doctors at Ganga Ram Hospital.
- Upgradation of the lady doctors’ hostel at the hospital.
- The security company’s failure to pay its staff the minimum wage.
- A rise in theft incidents within the hospital premises.
- A shortage of essential medicines and the increasing number of thefts related to medical supplies.
The YDA emphasized the government’s role, stating, “It is the state’s responsibility to provide healthcare, education, and safety. We should not be forced to protest to have our demands met.”
Additionally, Dr. Haseeb Thand called for an audit of the JKAT examination and urged the induction of doctors who passed the exam last year.
In solidarity with doctors in Balochistan, the YDA has announced a strike in the Outpatient Department (OPD) on January 20, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
