The XWAPDA power distribution companies (DISCOs) had requested the adjustment, and NEPRA conducted a public hearing regarding the petition. The adjustment follows the Rs. 1.74 per unit charge that consumers were paying for the fourth quarterly adjustment of the fiscal year 2023-24. The new first-quarter adjustment for FY 2024-25 will be Rs. 1.54 less than the previous quarter’s adjustments.
The increase will affect all consumers except lifeline users and those served by K-Electric. NEPRA has informed the federal government prior to issuing the notification.
