Pakistan has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) that it rejects the proposed hybrid model for hosting the Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made it clear that it intends to host the event independently, without sharing the responsibility with any other nation.

Reports indicate that the PCB communicated its position ahead of the upcoming ICC Board of Directors meeting, emphasizing that if the ICC has a viable solution to the dispute, it should notify Pakistan before the meeting. This would allow the PCB to make adequate preparations and work toward a resolution.

The PCB also made it clear that it is unacceptable for the Pakistan team to travel to India for matches, while India refuses to visit Pakistan for the tournament. This stance highlights the ongoing tension between the two nations regarding the event.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been pushing to strip Pakistan of its hosting rights for the Champions Trophy or to force it into accepting the hybrid model. The BCCI has cited recent political protests and the delay of Sri Lanka A’s tour as reasons for its stance, claiming security concerns surrounding Pakistan.
