In preparation for the PTI-led protests, Islamabad has been placed under strict security lockdown. Mobile phone services have also been suspended, while gatherings have been banned under legal provisions.

Global watchdog NetBlocks confirmed restricted access to WhatsApp, indicating preventative measures by authorities. Key PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur, leading the largest convoy, urged supporters to assemble near D-Chowk, located in Islamabad’s red zone, until their demands, including Imran Khan’s release and government resignation, are met.

The protests follow Khan’s imprisonment since August and his party’s accusations of political persecution. PTI denies the charges against him, labeling them politically motivated. Residents of Islamabad expressed concerns about the economic and social instability caused by these recurring demonstrations.
