French Embassy Warns Against Fake Consular Appointment Offers in Pakistan

The French Embassy in Islamabad has warned the public about fraudulent individuals claiming they can arrange appointments for consular services. The Embassy said these people are not authorized and urged applicants to avoid dealing with them.

According to an official statement, several social media posts have appeared offering help in securing appointments for services intended for members of the French community. These advertisements claim to provide access to appointments for marriage registration, family reunification, and services related to OFPRA and OFII.

The French Embassy made it clear that it has not authorized any individual or third party to provide such services. It described these offers as fraudulent and advised the public to remain cautious.

Some of the advertisements also promise urgent appointments. They ask applicants to contact them through private messages or WhatsApp. The Embassy warned that these claims are false and should not be trusted.

Officials stressed that no outside person or agency can guarantee consular appointments on behalf of the Embassy. Anyone making such promises is acting without authorization.

The French Embassy advised all applicants to use only its official appointment channels. People seeking consular assistance or visa-related services should avoid unofficial websites, social media pages, or individuals claiming to have special access.

The Embassy reminded applicants that visa applications from Pakistan are processed only through the official France-Visas system. Using the official process helps applicants avoid fraud and ensures their applications are handled correctly.

Embassy officials encouraged people to verify any information through official sources before making payments or sharing personal documents. Fraudsters often use fake offers to collect money or sensitive information from applicants.

The warning comes after social media posts promoted appointment booking services for consular matters. These included marriage registration, family reunification, and appointments related to French immigration support programs.

The Embassy emphasized that applicants should never rely on unauthorized agents who claim they can speed up the process. Appointment availability and scheduling are managed only through official systems.

Officials also advised people to ignore messages that promise guaranteed appointments in exchange for money. Such claims are misleading and do not represent the Embassy’s procedures.

People applying for visas or consular services should carefully follow the instructions available through the official France-Visas platform. They should also check announcements published by the Embassy before taking any action.

The Embassy’s latest advisory is intended to protect applicants from scams that target people seeking international travel or consular assistance. Fake appointment schemes have become increasingly common on social media platforms.
