PTI Protest Barrister Gohar Meets Imran Khan at Adiala Jail

On Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor Barrister Saif and PTI leader Ali Mohammad Khan, met with party founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. The purpose of the meeting was to brief Imran Khan on the latest developments regarding the planned PTI protest in Islamabad and to seek his guidance on the matter. Barrister Gohar emphasized the importance of keeping Imran Khan informed about the party’s strategy while he remains in jail, as the protest is expected to be a significant event.

As the PTI convoys, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and opposition leader Omar Ayub, made their way to Islamabad, they encountered resistance from law enforcement. The convoys, originating from Swabi, faced intense tear gas shelling near key locations like Attock Bridge and Ghazi Barotha Canal. Despite the obstacles, the Chief Minister urged the party members to press forward, declaring they would not stop until Imran Khan is released.

Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, also voiced her frustration with the delays, urging supporters to keep moving without unnecessary pauses. Addressing the crowd near Ghazi Bridge, she emphasized the importance of staying focused on the goal of securing her husband’s release. The PTI’s march toward Islamabad is set to culminate in a protest at D-Chowk, where Imran Khan has called on the public to join in what he describes as a movement for freedom and justice.

Amid the escalating tensions, PTI leaders Aamir Dogar and Zain Qureshi were arrested by Punjab Police at the Qadirpurra Toll Plaza in Multan. The government has taken extensive measures to prevent the protest, deploying heavy security forces, sealing roads, and setting up barriers around Islamabad. The Interior Ministry has warned that any attempts to disrupt public order will result in legal action, in line with court orders barring protests in the capital.
