Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, Noman Ali, has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October 2024, after an outstanding performance in the ICC World Test Championship series against England. Noman’s exceptional efforts played a crucial role in Pakistan’s thrilling 2-1 victory over England, where he claimed 20 wickets at an impressive average of 13.85 over two vital Test wins.
Noman Ali outshone fierce competition from South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner, marking a significant achievement as Pakistan’s first men’s award winner since Babar Azam in August of the previous year.
Reflecting on his recognition, Noman expressed his gratitude: “I am delighted to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month and deeply grateful to my teammates who supported me in delivering my best. It’s always an honor to be part of memorable wins for Pakistan.”

The 37-year-old’s stellar performances were pivotal in Pakistan’s series turnaround. He produced match figures of 11/147 and 9/130, with his resilience key to Pakistan’s victory after an initial loss in the series. His 8/46 in the second Test was instrumental in securing Pakistan’s first home Test victory since 2021, defending a 297-run target with remarkable skill.
Noman continued to impress in the series finale in Rawalpindi, contributing with both bat and ball. Coming in at No. 9, his 45-run knock helped strengthen Pakistan’s lead. He then sealed the victory with a match-winning six-wicket haul, dismissing England for just 112 and ensuring Pakistan’s nine-wicket win.
This well-deserved ICC Men’s Player of the Month recognition celebrates Noman Ali’s vital contributions, marking Pakistan’s return to Test dominance on home soil.
