This decision came after PCB chief held discussions with Rizwan and Agha, with reports indicating that Head Coach Gary Kirsten recommended Rizwan as the white-ball skipper.
The selection committee backed Rizwan’s appointment as the new captain, succeeding Babar Azam, who was recently omitted from the Test squad for the series against England following a dip in performance.
Earlier, Pakistan secured a nine-wicket victory over England in the Rawalpindi Test as bowlers Sajid Khan and Noman Ali took 19 wickets combined. Shan Masood led the team to chase down a 36-run target in 19 balls, securing Pakistan’s first home Test series win since February 2021 and first home series victory over England since 2015.
