It seems like Karan Johar is having quite a day! Renowned singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has offered to work in Johar’s films “free of charge” following a heartfelt acknowledgment from the director. Johar recently shared Khan’s cover of ‘Tauba Tauba’ on his Instagram stories, describing it as a must-watch and adding a heart emoji to express his admiration.
Khan’s cover came in response to the success of Vicky Kaushal’s film Bad Newz, produced by Johar, which featured Karan Aujla’s hit song ‘Tauba Tauba’. Khan released his own version titled ‘Toba Toba,’ which showcased slightly altered lyrics and a new melody. Aujla humorously reacted to Khan’s cover by commenting, “Uncle na karo please [Uncle please don’t],” to which Khan responded positively, continuing his musical endeavors.

In a special message directed at Johar, Khan even sang “Happy Birthday” to celebrate the producer, although Johar’s actual birthday falls on May 25. Nevertheless, Khan was thrilled by Johar’s acknowledgment of his song and his acting skills, exclaiming, “A producer, singer, actor, model like you. You’re a kingmaker!” Although it’s worth noting that Johar isn’t primarily known for modeling, Khan’s enthusiasm suggests he holds the director in high esteem.
Khan was so excited by the shoutout that he reportedly “could not sleep for three nights,” which is understandable when a major figure in the industry recognizes your work!
