The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced on Friday that it will hold a protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on October 15.

This decision was made during an emergency political committee meeting, which notably excluded Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Following the meeting, Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram issued a statement, calling for a large-scale protest and urging all party leaders, from central to regional levels, to prepare for the event.

As a result of the planned protest, PTI has cancelled demonstrations in several districts of Punjab, with new dates to be announced later. The party emphasized that the D-Chowk protest will be peaceful.

PTI’s political committee condemned the government, accusing it of undermining the Constitution and law, while highlighting the mistreatment of party Chairman Imran Khan, currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail. They claimed his life and safety are being deliberately put at risk by denying him basic human rights.
