Pakistan Unveils Squad for Opening Test Match Against England

Pakistan has announced its squad for the first Test against England, set to begin on October 7 in Multan. Shan Masood will captain the side, with Saud Shakeel serving as his vice-captain.

The 15-man squad features familiar names like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah. Notably, pace-bowling all-rounder Aamir Jamal and left-arm spinner Noman Ali have been recalled to the squad.

Khurram Shahzad, who impressed during the Bangladesh series, misses out due to injury, and Mohammad Ali has been dropped following underwhelming performances. Pakistan will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing clean-sweep defeat to Bangladesh in the previous series and will aim for their first Test win at home since 2021.

The three-match series will take place in Multan for the first two Tests, with the final Test hosted in Rawalpindi.
