In response to a calling attention notice regarding the extended closure of Hyderabad airport to commercial flights, Asif stated that resuming PIA flights on this route is not financially viable. He elaborated that PIA is burdened with a debt of Rs. 800 billion, making it impractical to operate routes that do not offer financial benefits.
Additionally, Asif mentioned that the government has no objections to a private airline operating from Hyderabad airport if it chooses to do so.
