During the August 23rd episode of her podcast, “Just a Little Shady,” the 28-year-old admitted she “audibly sobbed” while listening to “Somebody Save Me” and “Temporary.”

“Somebody Save Me,” a collaboration with Jelly Roll, imagines a world where Eminem didn’t overcome his drug addiction and expresses remorse for the pain it would have caused his family. The song contains heartfelt messages to Hailie, and the accompanying music video includes childhood footage of her and her siblings. Hailie confessed that she cried while watching the video and can’t bear to watch it again.

“Temporary,” another emotional track, was written by Eminem to help Hailie cope with his eventual passing, encouraging her to find happiness and move on. Hailie revealed that this song particularly affected her, causing her to “audibly sob” as she listened.

Although Eminem has spoken openly about his struggles with addiction throughout his career, Hailie credits her parents for shielding her from the full extent of his issues during her childhood. Hearing these songs and watching the music video have given her a new understanding of her father’s past and the potential impact his addiction could have had on their family.

Eminem, who celebrated 16 years of sobriety in April, has been candid about his recovery journey, including his near-fatal overdose in 2007 and his battle with addiction to sleeping pills and painkillers.

These new songs offer a raw glimpse into the rapper’s personal life and the significant impact his addiction had on his family. While they are emotionally challenging for Hailie, they also underscore the deep bond between father and daughter and Eminem’s enduring love for her.
