President and PM Commend Contributions of Minority Communities

President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized that minorities in Pakistan enjoy all the political, economic, and social rights guaranteed by the Constitution. In his message on National Minorities’ Day, he reaffirmed the commitment made by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on August 11, 1947, to protect the rights and religious freedoms of the country’s minorities.

The President highlighted the government’s efforts to promote the political, social, and economic empowerment of minorities and urged all segments of society to educate people about their rights. He called for promoting interfaith harmony, love, tolerance, brotherhood, and unity to strengthen Pakistan.

Zardari expressed confidence that Pakistan’s minorities would continue to contribute positively to the nation’s development.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also extended his best wishes to minority communities in Pakistan and praised their contributions across various fields.

Additionally, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, along with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of minorities to the nation’s progress, prosperity, and rich cultural heritage. According to the ISPR, this occasion serves as a reminder of the diversity, inclusivity, and harmonious coexistence that define the nation.

The ISPR stated that minority communities are a vital part of the country’s social fabric, and their rights and freedoms are enshrined in the Constitution and Islam. Throughout Pakistan’s history, minorities have significantly shaped the country’s cultural identity, contributed to its development, and strengthened its social foundations.

From the ideals of the Quaid to the present day, minorities have played an essential role in nation-building, and their sacrifices and contributions are deeply appreciated. The Armed Forces honor the unwavering commitment, dedication, and sacrifices of minority communities, recognizing their loyalty to the nation and their role in fostering a cohesive and pluralistic society.

The ISPR reiterated its commitment to protecting and promoting the rights, freedoms, and welfare of minority communities in Pakistan.
