RAWALPINDI – Heavy rainfall in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has led to severe flooding in Nalah Lai. The recent downpour has significantly raised the water levels in Nalah Lai, prompting pre-alert warnings for potential flooding in and around the water channel. Residents in low-lying areas have been forced to relocate due to the rising waters.
Water levels at Leh Nalah have risen by 17 feet at the Gawalmandi bridge and 23 feet at other points. Authorities have declared a pre-alert flood situation, with WASA officials on high alert and inspecting drainage systems to prevent a flood-like scenario.

Weather Update for Islamabad and Rawalpindi The Met Office forecasts humid weather with rain and thunderstorms expected both in the morning and evening. Temperatures are anticipated to range between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, accompanied by high humidity. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning that monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating the upper parts of the country, contributing to the ongoing weather conditions.
