Pakistan Railways has restored the Sir Syed Express service between Karachi and Rawalpindi

Pakistan Railways has announced the restoration of the Sir Syed Express, which will operate between Karachi Cantonment and Rawalpindi starting September 1.

Additionally, Pakistan Railways has introduced a significant reduction in fares for all classes of passenger trains, effective from Saturday, August 3. The new fare structure includes a decrease of Rs100 to Rs150 for AC class tickets, providing substantial savings for higher-class travelers. Economy class fares have been reduced by Rs50, making train travel more affordable for a broader segment of the population.

This fare reduction applies to all passenger trains operating nationwide, aiming to encourage more people to use railway services and alleviate the financial burden on regular commuters.

A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways stated, “The decision to reduce fares is part of our ongoing efforts to make train travel more accessible and affordable for everyone. We hope this initiative will not only benefit our passengers but also boost the overall usage of our rail services.” The new fares will take effect on Saturday, August 3, and passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the reduced rates for their travel plans.
