Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Pakistan Army officer Julian Moazzam James on his promotion to the rank of major general, marking a historic milestone as James becomes the first Christian army officer to achieve this rank.

PM Shehbaz praised the Christian community for their invaluable contributions to Pakistan’s progress, development, and defense. He commended James’ professional skills and dedication, highlighting them as an inspiration for the younger generation.
Last month, Helen Mary Roberts from the minority Christian community was promoted to the rank of brigadier in the Pakistan Army, serving in the Army Medical Corps.
During a Christmas celebration at Christ Church in Rawalpindi last year, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir acknowledged the Christian community’s significant role in Pakistan’s development, particularly in education, healthcare, philanthropy, and national defense. He emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony in realizing Quaid’s vision of a united and progressive Pakistan.
