Huawei Plans To Train 2Lac Pakistani Students, Boosting Mobile Unit Investment

Chinese tech giant Huawei has announced a training program for 200,000 Pakistani students, signaling its interest in expanding investment in mobile units. This development coincides with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s trip to China, where 32 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed to boost trade and investment.

During the visit, Sharif, accompanied by a delegation of 100 businessmen, focused on enhancing bilateral trade and investment prospects. One notable agreement involves cooperation in Information Technology (IT) and cloud services, with Huawei committing to train 200,000 Pakistani students and expressing further interest in investing in Pakistan’s mobile unit.

During a visit to Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, Sharif was warmly received by Huawei Chairman Liang Hua. The Prime Minister was briefed on Huawei’s global operations, with a focus on its activities in Pakistan. Huawei’s Chairman expressed keen interest in investing across various sectors in Pakistan, which was appreciated by Sharif.

At the exhibition center, Sharif was updated on sectors like e-governance, digital banking, and telecommunications. Huawei’s commitment to training 200,000 students in Pakistan was reiterated, along with discussions on expanding investment in mobile manufacturing and sectors including electric bikes, advanced agriculture, and fintech.
