Security forces neutralized 23 terrorists in three separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 26-27, 2024, according to a statement from the military’s media wing.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that on May 26, an intelligence-based operation was conducted in the general area of Hassan Khel, Peshawar. Six terrorists were successfully neutralized, and multiple hideouts were destroyed. Captain Hussain Jehangir and Havildar Shafiqullah were martyred in the operation, demonstrating immense bravery.

On May 27, another operation in Tank District saw troops effectively engaging the terrorists’ location, resulting in the deaths of ten terrorists. In a separate engagement in the general area of Bagh, Khyber District, security forces killed seven terrorists and injured two.
During these intense firefights, five courageous soldiers lost their lives: Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar, Sepoy Taimoor Malik, Sepoy Nadir Sageer, and Sepoy Muhammad Yasin.
A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the terrorists, who had been involved in numerous attacks against security forces and civilians.
Ongoing sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the area. The security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country, with the sacrifices of their brave soldiers reinforcing their resolve.
