Philippe Lazzarini stated on social media platform X that almost half of Rafah’s population, equivalent to 800,000 people, have been displaced since the military operation commenced on May 6.

Responding to evacuation directives, Gazans have sought sanctuary in other areas such as the middle regions and Khan Younis, even taking refuge in buildings that have been destroyed.
