Rescue operations are currently in progress, as the earthquake’s tremors reverberated throughout Taiwan, triggering landslides in mountainous areas and prompting warnings of potential tsunamis.

The earthquake resulted in widespread disruptions to power supply across numerous regions, along with reports of internet outages and structural damage in Taipei and other localities.

The county of Hualien witnessed significant devastation, with numerous buildings collapsing and trapping individuals underneath the rubble.
To aid in disaster relief efforts, the armed forces have been mobilized, and educational institutions and businesses have temporarily suspended operations.
