Rashid faced charges of causing damage to the Metro bus station at Sixth Road in Rawalpindi during the May 9 riots. The former interior minister is being transported to the New Town Police Station.

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted bail to Rashid and other accused in the case related to the attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ). The case had been registered against the accused at the A R Bazaar Police Station.
In another development today, the court sanctioned bail for the nominated individuals, including Rashid, in a case linked to the May 9 riots that erupted across the country following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
