The latest advisory from Canada highlights potential risks such as terrorism, civil unrest, sectarian violence, and kidnapping for its citizens residing in or traveling to Pakistan. Furthermore, Canadian nationals are strongly discouraged from visiting specific regions, including those within 50 km of the Afghanistan border.
Additionally, areas within 10 km of the borders with China, India, and Iran are designated as restricted, as well as the segment of the Karakoram Highway from Mansehra to Chilas. The advisory also includes areas within 10 km of the Line of Control, excluding specific official border crossings at Wagah, the Grand Trunk Road leading there, Khunjerab Pass, and the Karakoram Highway leading there.

Pakistan-administered Kashmir, the province of Balochistan, and the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with exceptions for certain districts like Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Buner, and Chitral, are among the locations deemed off-limits.
Moreover, Canadian citizens are strongly cautioned against non-essential travel to Karachi due to the prevalent violence and potential terrorism risks. The advisory emphasizes avoiding areas where demonstrations and large gatherings are occurring while in Pakistan.
It’s crucial to note that Pakistan has experienced a surge in terrorist attacks following the cessation of the ceasefire between the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the government in November.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
