Attempted Murder Charges For Aerial Firing On New Year

In a media interview, Additional Inspector General Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind stated that those involved in aerial firing on New Year’s Eve will face charges of attempted murder.

During this year’s Independence Day celebrations in Karachi, aerial firing resulted in at least two fatalities and over 80 injuries on August 14.

AIG Rind also instructed fellow officers, particularly DIG Iqbal Dara, the chief of traffic police, to arrest drunk drivers and those driving recklessly, especially on New Year’s Eve.

Additionally, there are directives to prohibit the carrying and display of weapons within the city, along with guidelines for apprehending individuals engaged in aerial firing.

A high-level conference at the Central Police Office in Karachi assessed the security situation ahead of the annual celebration night, chaired by Sindh Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar Raja.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
