[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Tragedy struck when a passenger bus collided with a pickup truck near Pindi Bhattian, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of at least 18 individuals and left 11 others injured. The incident, which occurred close to Hafizabad tehsil, was attributed to the bus driver allegedly falling asleep at the wheel, leading to a loss of control and the subsequent collision, according to rescue officials who spoke with Express News.
Hafizabad DSP Ehsan Zafar revealed that the bus crashed into a diesel-carrying vehicle, causing a massive explosion that engulfed the bus in flames. The accident transpired at around 4:30 am, and it took rescue personnel about an hour to quell the fire.
A survivor of the tragic crash recounted that the bus driver had been replaced in Rahim Yar Khan, and as the journey continued, petrol started leaking from the vehicle near the Toll Plaza on Pindi Bhattian M3.

The identities of the deceased and injured were being established at the time this report was compiled. Hafizabad DPO Dr Fahad stated that 15 of those who lost their lives had been transported to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Additionally, eight of the injured had also been transferred to the same facility, according to Health CEO Dr Umar Rathore.
Among the wounded were individuals such as Taluk Faisalabad (26), Aaliya (25), Imdad (18), Sajid (25), Sabir (39), Nazar (34), Abira (10), Masifa (14), Zeeshan (20), and Usman (15).
Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene within five minutes of receiving the distress call. Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of six members from a single family. The passengers on the ill-fated bus hailed from various locations, including Karachi, Khairpur, Faisalabad, Jalalpur Bhattian, and Pindi Bhattian.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
