Hostile elements or state-sponsored malicious actors are often known to target government departments, ministries, and defense sector websites on national days to disrupt services and deface websites in an attempt to tarnish the country’s image.

In response to this potential threat, NTISB has issued an advisory titled “Prevention against Website Compromise on the Eve of National Days.” The advisory recommends additional security precautions for website administrators and service providers, including measures such as web server hardening, traffic and integrity monitoring, and adherence to cyber security guidelines.
