Government Considering 2 Additional Holidays for Islamabad

To ensure a smooth and successful event, authorities are contemplating the idea of declaring these two days as local holidays.

The main purpose of this decision is to ensure a seamless visit for the dignitaries with enhanced security measures. According to insider information, high-profile Chinese dignitaries are scheduled to visit the capital city of Pakistan on July 31st and August 1st.

As the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad is well-versed in hosting dignitaries and foreign officials.

Earlier, the federal government had already announced public holidays on July 28 and 29 in observance of Ashura. The ICT Chief Commissioner’s Office has now reportedly requested the Interior Ministry to declare Monday and Tuesday as local holidays in Islamabad.
