Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, an elected MNA from Yazman, Bahawalpur, as well as the central secretary-general of the Muslim League-Q and a federal minister, learned that his son had become addicted to Ice (Methamphetamine) and was blackmailing hundreds of female students at the Islamic University Bahawalpur.
Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema was cautioned about the political fallout if his son’s tapes were made public. Major Ijaz Shah, the security chief at Islamia University Bahawalpur, was also implicated in the incident, which was shocking. In response, Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema phoned police officers close to him and asked for their help in saving his son. He also sought Ijaz Shah’s arrest and the confiscation of the pornographic films and photographs in order to keep his son from being exposed on social media.
The police responded to the request by arresting Ijaz Shah and seizing a huge quantity of explicit films and photographs from his phone. The investigation resulted in shocking revelations. Ijaz Shah revealed that this gang included the offspring of key political figures and officers, including Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema.
Ijaz Shah went on to say that he had been watching the security cameras at Islamia University Bahawalpur. He filmed female students cuddling and smoking with pals under trees and near academic buildings. The students were then blackmailed by threatening to share the videos with their parents.

Furthermore, Ijaz Shah would transport terrified female students to the houses of powerful gang members, including the son of Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema, where they would be sexually exploited. This horrifying situation has been going on for quite some time. The probe also revealed the involvement of Islamic University Bahawalpur professors and staff members in the gang.
Outrage and Justice Demands
There was great fury when the scandal broke on social media. Rashid Aziz Bhatta, a social activist who advocates for the rights of the underprivileged, urged the arrest of Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema’s son and all gang members. He insisted that no tolerance be offered to any powerful accused, emphasising the significance of bringing them to justice.
Criticism of the Press’s Silence
Bhatta also criticised the electronic media’s inaction on this critical topic, raising concerns about suspicious signs. He indicated that Federal Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema might have control over the electronic media in order to keep the truth from becoming public.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
