Layers Bakeshop issues official statement in response to claim of lizard being found in cake

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Layers Bakeshop, a Lahore-based bakery establishment, has warned legal action against those who “aim to tarnish their hard-earned reputation” after a TikTok user published a video of a lizard they purportedly discovered in a Layers Bakeshop cake.

The bakery has refuted these “false allegations,” writing on Instagram that it has been “subjected to baseless allegations that seek to tarnish our hard-earned reputation.”

“We are extremely proud of the quality and hygiene of our products.” Our factory maintains the highest levels of cleanliness. Foreign things, such as the purported lizard, are technically impossible to find in our baked goods,” according to a statement posted on Instagram.

“We reserve the right to take legal action against those who defame our brand in accordance with Pakistan’s Cybercrime Laws.” Your confidence means everything to us, and we want to reassure you that we are entirely devoted to providing the best products available.”

The statement closed by thanking those who had demonstrated “trust” in their brand.

The problem started after a video of a lizard-in-a-cake supposedly purchased from the bakery’s Faisalabad branch went viral. TikTok user @AttaYounas submitted two videos of the same incident.

The video show a lizard that looks to be blended into the cake. Despite the fact that the event allegedly occurred in Faisalabad, the recordings were posted on Twitter, where one person tagged the Islamabad police and deputy commissioner.

There were varied reactions online, with some claiming that an entire lizard couldn’t have been discovered in the cake. Adnan Zafar aka Ken Doll Dubai, a social media sensation, came to Instagram to share his thoughts.

Based on his 11 years of expertise in the hospitality industry, he believes it is highly unlikely that a reptile would retain a delicate texture if baked in a cake at 200°C.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
