“Our Baby Is Still Bleeding”: Mandi Bahauddin Family Seeks Justice

A disturbing incident has been reported in Mandi Bahauddin, where a nine-month-old baby girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at her home. The infant reportedly suffered serious injuries and heavy bleeding after the alleged incident.

According to the family, the baby’s mother had left her at home while going to work. She earns a living by cleaning houses. Before leaving, she placed the infant in a traditional swing made from her dupatta and tied to a charpai.

The family alleges that a married man linked to a local landlord removed the baby from the swing. He is accused of sexually assaulting the child while she was alone. The allegations have not been independently verified.

The parents said they found the baby bleeding heavily after the mother returned home. They reportedly took the child to the District Headquarters Hospital for emergency treatment. However, the family claims the hospital did not admit the infant.

The baby was then referred to a government City Hospital. The parents said they waited for several hours while the child continued to bleed. They also claimed that a doctor was not available to provide immediate treatment.

Frustrated by the situation, the family reportedly blocked a road to protest the lack of medical assistance. Local media reached the area following the protest. Police subsequently registered a first information report and arranged a medical examination of the infant.

Police also took custody of items reportedly recovered from the scene. These included blood-stained clothes and an oil bottle. The family also alleged that the suspect attempted to clean blood from his hands in nearby fields.

The incident has also highlighted the difficult living conditions of the victim’s family. The parents reportedly live on a local landlord’s land in extreme poverty. They said they have only a charpai and a basic cooking area.

The family also reportedly has no proper toilet facilities. Electricity is limited to one bulb and one fan provided by the landlord. The parents alleged that the local landlord supported the accused and pressured them to leave the area.

The allegations have raised serious concerns about child protection and access to emergency healthcare. Questions have also been raised over the alleged pressure faced by the poor family after the incident.

Police have said that an investigation is under way. Authorities are reportedly examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and the subsequent response. Further action will depend on the medical findings and investigation.
