Punjab Dismisses 4,000 School Guards, Workers Protest

Around 4,000 security guards working at government schools in Punjab have been dismissed, triggering protests by affected employees on Davis Road.

The dismissed workers have raised concerns over the sudden loss of employment and said they have also not received their salaries for July, adding to their financial difficulties.

Guards protest against dismissals

The affected employees gathered on Davis Road to protest against the termination of their services.

According to the workers, the dismissals have left thousands of families facing serious financial pressure, particularly as many of them have also been waiting for their unpaid salaries.

The protesters appealed to senior government authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and review the termination orders.

Workers demand restoration of jobs

The dismissed guards demanded that their employment be restored and their pending salaries released without further delay.

They said the combination of job losses and unpaid wages has created severe financial hardship for employees who depend on their monthly income to support their families.

The workers maintained that authorities should intervene and provide a solution to the issue.

Protests follow termination orders

The protest was organized after the employees said they were left without income and adequate support following the issuance of termination orders.

The development has raised concerns among the affected workers, who are seeking clarification from the relevant authorities regarding the reasons behind the dismissals and their future employment status.

The guards have called for urgent action to resolve the matter and prevent further financial difficulties for the affected families.
