Customs Seizes Rs90 Million Smuggled Goods at Ziarat

Customs authorities have stopped a major smuggling attempt at Ziarat Cross. Officials recovered valuable goods from a passenger bus.

The seized items were initially estimated to be worth approximately Rs90 million. The operation targeted goods suspected of being smuggled through the area.

According to the Customs Department spokesperson, officials recovered 122 kilograms of silver. The silver was valued at approximately Rs73.2 million.

Officials also found a large quantity of electronic devices during the operation. The recovered items included 277 used smartphones and five tablets.

The electronic devices were valued at around Rs16.2 million. Together, the silver and electronic items represented a substantial seizure.

Details of the Seized Goods

The silver accounted for the largest portion of the recovered goods. Officials valued the 122 kilograms at Rs73.2 million.

The Customs team also recovered hundreds of used smartphones. A total of 277 phones were found during the inspection.

Five tablets were also recovered from the passenger bus. Authorities placed the combined value of these electronic items at approximately Rs16.2 million.

Based on the figures provided by authorities, the combined value reaches around Rs89.4 million. This is broadly consistent with the reported value of about Rs90 million.

Operation at Ziarat Cross

The seizure took place at Ziarat Cross after Customs officials stopped a passenger bus. Officers conducted an inspection of the vehicle during the operation.

The inspection led to the discovery of silver and electronic devices. Authorities then took the recovered goods into custody.

The operation prevented the suspected smuggled items from continuing their journey. The seized goods are now part of the Customs action.
