Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a major facility for people planning to perform Hajj 2027 by allowing them to renew their passports earlier than the usual schedule. The decision has been approved by the passport authorities to help pilgrims complete their required documentation on time.
According to the ministry, all applicants for Hajj 2027 must have a valid Pakistani passport that remains active until November 16, 2027. Applications submitted without meeting this passport validity requirement will not be accepted during the Hajj registration process.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs requested special permission from the Passport Office, following which authorities issued instructions to allow early passport renewals for prospective Hajj pilgrims. The facility has been introduced under Passport Rules 3(c) to prevent delays and make the Hajj application process smoother.
The Passport Office has directed passport offices across Pakistan, as well as Pakistani diplomatic missions abroad, to accept and process early renewal requests from Hajj 2027 applicants on a priority basis. The step aims to ensure that pilgrims complete their travel documentation well before the official application procedure begins.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs advised all potential pilgrims to check their passport validity and renew their documents as soon as possible. The spokesperson highlighted that a valid Pakistani passport is a compulsory requirement for submitting a Hajj 2027 application.
Officials said the early renewal option will reduce difficulties for applicants and help avoid last-minute issues related to passport expiry. The initiative is expected to provide greater convenience to thousands of Pakistanis preparing for the upcoming pilgrimage.
Authorities have encouraged all intending pilgrims to take advantage of this facility and complete their passport requirements in advance. The move reflects efforts by relevant departments to improve the Hajj application system and ensure a smoother process for Pakistani pilgrims seeking to perform Hajj in 2027.
