Police have started an investigation after a resident accused his friend of luring him with a fake job offer, allegedly abducting him, and removing one of his kidneys before selling it.
According to police, the victim, Rahmat, said the incident took place on June 26 in Pattoki’s Purani Mandi area. He claimed that his friend, Raza, convinced him to travel with him after promising to arrange employment. Instead of taking him to a workplace, the suspect allegedly transported him to Rawalpindi.
Investigators said Rahmat was allegedly given a drink believed to contain an intoxicating substance, causing him to lose consciousness. While he was unconscious, the suspects are accused of surgically removing one of his kidneys. Police believe the organ was later sold, although authorities are still verifying the details as part of the ongoing investigation.
Rahmat reportedly became suspicious after experiencing health issues following the incident. He later underwent a medical examination, including an ultrasound scan, which allegedly confirmed that one of his kidneys was missing. The discovery prompted him to approach the police and file a formal complaint.
Based on the victim’s statement, police have registered a case against the accused and launched a full investigation into the alleged organ trafficking incident. Authorities said raids are being conducted to locate and arrest the suspects involved.
Police emphasized that the allegations are currently under investigation, and no final conclusions have been reached. Officials said further evidence, including medical reports and witness statements, will be collected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case and identify anyone else who may have been involved.
