The FIFA World Cup trophy will make its journey to the final at MetLife Stadium in New York-New Jersey inside a specially crafted Louis Vuitton trunk, continuing the luxury fashion house’s long-standing partnership with world football’s governing body.
The custom-made trunk features a striking golden “V” representing both “Victory” and “Vuitton” across the front. It is adorned with Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram pattern and finished with gold-plated brass corner protectors, reflecting the brand’s signature craftsmanship.
Inside, the trunk is lined with premium beige leather and includes a commemorative patch celebrating the partnership between Louis Vuitton and FIFA. The elegant design is intended to protect and showcase one of the most prestigious trophies in global sport.
This marks the fifth consecutive FIFA World Cup for which Louis Vuitton has designed the official trophy trunk. The French luxury brand previously created bespoke cases for the 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments, making it an enduring part of the World Cup’s ceremonial tradition.
Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to excellence and the unifying power of sport.
“For over a decade, Louis Vuitton and FIFA have shared an unwavering commitment to excellence, bound by a shared belief in sport’s power to inspire and bring people together,” Beccari said in an official statement.
The World Cup trophy remains one of the most iconic prizes in sports and is typically housed at the FIFA Museum in Zurich when not in use. Its transport to the final is treated with exceptional care, making the bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk a symbol of prestige and protection.
Luxury brands have long been associated with major sporting events. Tiffany & Co. has crafted the Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to Super Bowl champions since the inaugural edition in 1967, while Louis Vuitton also designs custom trophy trunks for Formula 1 under a long-term partnership.
With only one FIFA World Cup trophy in existence, the opportunity to create its official travel case remains one of the highest honors in luxury craftsmanship. As the world prepares for the World Cup final, the iconic trophy will once again arrive in style inside a Louis Vuitton masterpiece.
