The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has completed the rehabilitation of the Faizabad Interchange slip road and installed new traffic signboards to improve traffic flow and provide a smoother travel experience for commuters. The project is expected to ease congestion and enhance road safety in one of the city’s busiest areas.
Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team Punjab and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Raja Hanif Advocate, inaugurated the completed project. He appreciated the RDA for completing the work within the approved timeline while maintaining the required quality standards.
The RDA launched the rehabilitation project on March 6, 2026, with an approved cost of Rs15.49 million. Following the completion of construction work, the authority has formally handed over the upgraded infrastructure for public use.
According to officials, the project included the rehabilitation of the slip road along with the installation of new traffic signboards to improve navigation and road safety. The upgrades are expected to help motorists travel more efficiently through the Faizabad Interchange.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Raja Hanif said the improved slip road and newly installed signboards would strengthen traffic management and make commuting safer and more convenient for residents and visitors.
He added that the Punjab government remains committed to investing in infrastructure projects that improve urban transport, reduce traffic congestion and enhance public services across Rawalpindi and other cities in the province.
The Faizabad Interchange serves as a key route connecting Rawalpindi and Islamabad, carrying thousands of vehicles every day. Officials believe the completed project will contribute to smoother traffic movement and improve the overall road network in the area.
The RDA said it will continue implementing development projects aimed at upgrading transport infrastructure and supporting the growing traffic needs of Rawalpindi through timely execution and improved public facilities.
