Farukh Khokhar Sentenced Life Imprisonment in Majid Satti Case

Farukh Khokhar, the main accused in the high-profile Majid Satti murder case, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an additional district and sessions court in Rawalpindi. The verdict was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ijaz Safi after the completion of legal proceedings in the case.

Following the court’s decision, Farukh Khokhar was immediately taken into custody from the courtroom under tight security and shifted to Adiala Jail to serve his sentence. The judgment marks a significant development in a case that has remained under trial since 2022.

The court also sentenced two co-accused, Amir Hamza and Haider Nawaz, to life imprisonment for their involvement in the murder. In addition to the prison terms, each of the three convicts was ordered to pay a fine of Rs1 million. After the verdict, all three were transferred to Adiala Jail under security arrangements.

The case relates to the murder of Majid Satti, who was allegedly killed on August 23, 2022. A criminal case was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, and investigations led to the arrest and prosecution of Farukh Khokhar and the other accused on murder-related charges.

After the verdict, Farukh Khokhar denied the allegations and expressed disagreement with the court’s ruling. He maintained that he was not present at the crime scene when the incident occurred and announced that his legal team would challenge the judgment in a higher court through the available legal process.

According to the prosecution, the dispute reportedly stemmed from an alleged attempt to seize a plot of land. Investigators claimed that Majid Satti was targeted after resisting the alleged takeover, which ultimately resulted in his death.

Majid Satti was known to be associated with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Farukh Khokhar, meanwhile, had previously been linked with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) before later joining Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).

With the verdict now delivered, the case enters its next phase as Farukh Khokhar prepares to challenge the life sentence through the appeals process. The decision has drawn attention due to the political affiliations of those involved and the lengthy legal proceedings surrounding the murder case.
