Hajj registrations for the years 2027 to 2030 have exceeded 308,000 as the online registration process continues nationwide, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The government has encouraged intending pilgrims to complete their registration through digital platforms, making the process more accessible and convenient for applicants across the country.
According to a spokesperson for the ministry, people wishing to perform Hajj can register through the official Hajj Portal or the Pak Hajj mobile application without paying any registration fee. The ministry explained that this initial registration is free of cost, while the payment of Hajj expenses will be introduced during the next phase through an online payment system.
Officials said the digital payment feature is part of the government’s Digital Pakistan initiative, which aims to modernize public services and simplify procedures for citizens. The new system is expected to make the Hajj application process faster, more transparent, and easier for prospective pilgrims.
The registration process is being managed through the Hajj Management System, developed by the National IT Board (NITB). The digital platform connects applicants directly with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and helps streamline the collection and management of registration data.
According to official figures, more than 308,000 people have registered so far. Among them, approximately 222,000 applicants have selected the Government Hajj Scheme, while nearly 86,000 have chosen to perform Hajj under the Private Hajj Scheme.
The ministry’s statistics also show that the registered applicants include around 181,000 men and 127,000 women. The data highlights the diverse educational backgrounds of intending pilgrims. Nearly 3,500 applicants hold PhD degrees, more than 53,000 have completed Master’s degrees, and approximately 71,000 possess Bachelor’s degrees.
In terms of age, the largest number of applicants falls within the 33 to 44-year age group, with nearly 119,000 registrations recorded. Meanwhile, around 40,000 applicants are aged 61 years or older, reflecting strong interest in Hajj among senior citizens as well.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that online Hajj registration for the 2027 to 2030 period will remain open, allowing eligible applicants to complete the process from the comfort of their homes. Officials have advised intending pilgrims to use the official online portal or mobile application to register safely and conveniently without paying any fee during the registration stage.
