Veteran Pakistani actor Waseem Abbas has publicly confirmed for the first time that he and renowned actress Saba Hameed ended their marriage several years ago, revealing that their nearly three-decade-long relationship officially came to an end after they had already been living separately for more than 14 years.
For many years, Waseem Abbas and Saba Hameed were regarded as one of Pakistan’s most admired celebrity couples. Their successful acting careers and dignified public image earned them respect across the entertainment industry. However, in a recent interview, Abbas shared that although they had been separated for a long time, they quietly finalized their divorce without making it a public matter.
The veteran actor explained that despite the end of their marriage, they continued to share a respectful relationship. He said they worked together on different television projects after separating and occasionally met over meals as friends. Abbas emphasized that there is no bitterness between them and that he would gladly work with Saba Hameed again if offered a suitable role.
Speaking about the reason behind the divorce, Waseem Abbas said their emotional connection gradually faded over the years, making it clear that ending the marriage was the right decision for both of them. He also clarified that the couple did not have any children together.
Abbas added that he has always maintained a respectful relationship with Saba Hameed’s family and believes mutual respect is more important than holding onto a relationship that no longer works. He noted that both of them chose to part ways with dignity and never spoke negatively about one another in public.
Reflecting on his second marriage, the actor admitted that although it seemed like the right decision at the time, he now feels it may not have been the best choice. Even so, he said he has no regrets about how the relationship ended.
When asked if he would consider marrying again, Abbas dismissed the idea. He explained that he is now a grandfather, lives with his children, and his first wife also resides in the same household, leaving no reason for another marriage.
Following his revelation, many fans and members of Pakistan’s entertainment industry praised both Waseem Abbas and Saba Hameed for handling their separation with grace, maturity, and mutual respect. Saba Hameed has not yet publicly commented on the matter.
