The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has taken action against several KFC outlets in Lahore over alleged violations related to tax compliance. According to official sources, five branches of KFC have been sealed in different parts of the city, including outlets located in DHA EME, Askari 10, and DHA Z Block.
The move is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to ensure businesses comply with provincial tax regulations. Officials claim that the affected KFC branches were sealed due to alleged non-compliance with tax requirements. However, the fast-food chain has not yet issued an official statement regarding the action. Efforts have been made to obtain a response from the company, and further updates are expected once its position becomes clear.

The development follows a recent crackdown by the Punjab Revenue Authority on other businesses in Lahore. Just days earlier, several branches of the coffee chain Double Shot were also sealed over allegations of sales data misreporting and violations of electronic invoicing regulations.
According to the PRA, the action against Double Shot was carried out under Section 59A of the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012. Authorities alleged that the company had failed to properly integrate with the mandatory Electronic Invoice Monitoring System and had under-reported taxable sales. Such practices, officials say, can affect the accurate collection of sales tax and undermine regulatory oversight.
Meanwhile, tax enforcement efforts are not limited to Lahore. In Islamabad, authorities recently sealed a branch of Red Apple located in F-6 Markaz. The outlet was reportedly targeted over concerns related to the issuance of unverified sales tax receipts.
Initial reports indicated that tax officials intervened after identifying alleged irregularities in the business’s invoicing practices. Authorities claimed that some receipts did not meet required authentication standards, prompting enforcement action.
These recent measures highlight the government’s increased focus on strengthening tax compliance and ensuring businesses follow invoicing and reporting rules. As investigations continue, the response from KFC and other affected businesses will likely provide further clarity on the allegations and the actions taken by tax authorities.
