Summer Sports Camp Announced by FDE for Students

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), working in partnership with the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination and the Pakistan Sports Board, has announced a summer sports camp for students during the upcoming school holidays. The program will be held at the Pakistan Sports Complex and is intended to encourage greater participation in sports and physical activities among young learners.

According to officials, the camp will take place from June 15 to June 25. Training sessions will be conducted from Monday to Thursday, allowing students to develop their sporting skills under the supervision of qualified coaches. The initiative aims to promote fitness, healthy lifestyles, and talent development by providing access to professional-level sports facilities.

A total of 114 students have been selected to participate in the camp. The training program will cover six different sports, including volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, cycling, and hockey. Organizers believe the variety of disciplines will help students explore different interests while improving their physical and mental well-being.

To minimize the impact of high temperatures, the daily schedule has been planned during the early morning hours. Female participants will attend training sessions from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., while male students will take part from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Officials said the timing was chosen to reduce exposure to extreme heat and encourage productive use of the summer vacation period.

Despite the positive objectives of the program, some parents and school administrators have expressed concerns about conducting outdoor activities during one of the hottest months of the year. They cautioned that younger participants could face health challenges if proper precautions are not taken.

Parents have urged organizers to ensure comprehensive safety arrangements at all venues. Suggested measures include the availability of clean drinking water, shaded resting areas, first-aid services, and medical personnel. They also called for continuous monitoring of participants to prevent dehydration, heat exhaustion, and other weather-related health issues.

Officials have assured stakeholders that student safety will remain a top priority throughout the camp while efforts continue to promote sports and healthy recreational activities among young people.
