Great Wall Motors (GWM) is reportedly preparing to introduce the Cannon Alpha pickup truck in Pakistan in June 2026, according to the latest Upcoming Automobile Launch Tracker released by Arif Habib Limited (AHL).
The Cannon Alpha is expected to be one of several new hybrid and electric vehicles entering the local market this year as automakers continue expanding their range of environmentally friendly transportation options. The launch reflects the growing interest in electrified vehicles among Pakistani consumers.
Internationally, the Cannon Alpha is offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor and battery pack. Together, the system produces up to 300 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque. The vehicle is paired with a nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive setup, offering both performance and off-road capability.
One of the standout features of the Cannon Alpha is its electric-only driving mode. Global specifications indicate that the pickup can travel up to 115 kilometers using electric power alone. When combined with the petrol engine, the total driving range exceeds 1,000 kilometers. The vehicle also supports DC fast charging, allowing quicker battery replenishment.
Designed as a premium lifestyle pickup, the Cannon Alpha offers a range of modern comfort and technology features. Higher international variants include a large infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone integration, panoramic sunroof, and electrically adjustable front seats.
The pickup is also equipped with advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies. These include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, driver monitoring systems, and a 360-degree camera. International safety assessments have awarded the vehicle a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
While GWM has yet to announce official pricing or detailed specifications for Pakistan, the Cannon Alpha is currently expected to be one of the most notable vehicle launches scheduled for June 2026, adding a new option to the country’s growing pickup and hybrid vehicle market.
