The district administration of Islamabad has officially implemented fixed entry charges at every cattle market in the federal capital ahead of Eidul Azha. Authorities announced that traders bringing large animals into the market will pay Rs4,000 per animal, while the fee for small animals has been set at Rs3,000.
Officials said the decision was taken to regulate cattle market operations and prevent illegal fee collection from traders and livestock sellers during the busy Eid season.
Fixed Rates Announced for Large and Small Animals
According to the district administration, the approved cattle market fee for large animals such as cows, bulls, and camels has been fixed at Rs4,000 per animal. Meanwhile, traders bringing goats and sheep into the market will be charged Rs3,000 per animal.
Authorities clarified that no contractor or individual is allowed to collect more than the officially approved rates. The administration warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in overcharging or illegal fee collection.
Monitoring Teams Active at Every Cattle Market
Officials stated that special monitoring teams have been deployed at all cattle market locations across Islamabad to ensure proper implementation of the fixed fee structure.
Field staff have also been instructed to remain present during business hours and closely monitor activities inside the livestock markets. Buyers and sellers were urged to immediately report any complaint related to extra charges or misconduct.
The administration said complaints regarding overcharging are being treated seriously, and quick action will be taken against violators.
One Person Arrested for Overcharging Trader
Authorities confirmed that one individual has already been arrested for allegedly charging extra money from a livestock trader at a cattle market.
The arrest was carried out shortly before the official announcement of the fixed entry rates. Officials said the move reflects the administration’s commitment to protecting traders from exploitation during Eidul Azha preparations.
Heavy Rush Expected at Islamabad Cattle Market
Thousands of people are expected to visit every cattle market in Islamabad in the coming days as Eidul Azha approaches. Livestock traders from different cities are arriving in the federal capital with animals for sale.
The district administration said additional arrangements are also being made to maintain order, manage traffic, and facilitate both buyers and sellers at designated cattle market locations across Islamabad.
Officials added that enforcement teams will continue operations throughout the Eid season to ensure transparency and smooth market operations.
