A tragic incident was reported from the Fatehpur area of Mailsi where a woman allegedly killed her three young children before taking her own life following a domestic dispute with her husband, according to police and local reports.
Authorities said the bodies of the 30-year-old woman and her three children were discovered inside their home. The deceased children were between the ages of 3 and 8 years. Initial investigations suggest the children were attacked while asleep during the night.
Police officials believe the incident may have been linked to ongoing tensions between the woman and her husband. Following the discovery, law enforcement agencies took the husband into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
The bodies were shifted to THQ Hospital Mailsi for post-mortem examinations. Officials stated that further details regarding the exact cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident would be confirmed after forensic and medical reports are completed.
According to police, the case was registered on the complaint of the deceased woman’s brother. Investigators are also collecting statements from relatives and neighbors to determine the events leading up to the tragedy.
The incident comes weeks after another disturbing case in Lahore where three children were found murdered near Shah Jamal Colony. Police had claimed that the children were allegedly killed by their mother amid marital disputes and family estrangement.
