IG Railways Rrders Tight Monitoring of Reclaimed Rawalpindi Land

Muhammad Wasi Fakhre Sultan carried out a detailed inspection visit on May 15, 2026, to Railway land and nearby locations on Shah Bukhari Road in Rawalpindi that were recently recovered during a large anti-encroachment operation. Senior officials, including SRP Rawalpindi and DSP RP-A, also accompanied him during the visit.

During the inspection, the IG Railways Police issued strict instructions to ensure that no illegal encroachments are allowed to return to the recovered Railway land. He emphasized that protecting Railway property and safeguarding national assets remain among the most important responsibilities of the Railways Police.

Muhammad Wasi Fakhre Sultan said that Railway land is a valuable state asset and should be utilized effectively to increase the revenue of Pakistan Railways. He directed officers to maintain strict surveillance and continuous monitoring of all reclaimed Railway sites to prevent illegal occupation in the future.

The IG further instructed concerned officials to maintain close coordination with Railway authorities so the retrieved land could be used for productive and beneficial projects. According to him, the proper use of Railway assets would help strengthen Pakistan Railways financially and support future development initiatives.

Later, the IG Railways Police visited the under-construction SRP Office and related buildings at PRP Rawalpindi. During the visit, he reviewed the progress of construction work and ordered officials to complete the remaining tasks quickly according to the revised PC-1 plan.

He also directed authorities to make the auditorium and administrative block operational as soon as possible in coordination with Railway departments.

While inspecting the site, the IG reviewed cleanliness arrangements and ordered the immediate removal of debris, bushes, and wild plants from the area.

The visit concluded at Hassan Railway Police Lines Rawalpindi, where he inspected residential and office facilities and issued further instructions regarding development work, cleanliness, and maintaining a better environment for Railway Police personnel.
